Overview
A group of twenty eight participants, including colleagues from the IoE and eight student representatives, worked under Professor Healey's direction to consider how the notions and practicalities of student engagement and partnership can contribute to realisation of the vision of the Connected Curriculum at UCL. His prior work across the sector and international expertise in engaging students as partners and in research-based education provided a rich foundation for participants to make recommendations to return to the Connected Curriculum Development Group as it formulates and implements its strategic plan for this major initiative across the institution and beyond.
Mick presented a conceptual framework for characterising different kinds of student partnership in higher education, informed by international research and richly illustrated with wide range of case studies from universities in the UK, Australia and North America. All of these references and case studies are available for our further exploration.
